BGAN High Bandwidth Portable Satellite Data Terminals
Broadband Global Area Network (BGAN) uses compact, portable voice and data terminals and the Inmarsat satellite system to provide global high speed mobile data. Broadband data up to 492 kbps is available, together with voice, SMS and ISDN services.
BGAN is designed to deliver internet and intranet content and solutions, video on demand, videoconferencing, fax, email, phone and LAN access almost anywhere in the world.
The BGAN terminals are robust, compact, quick to set up and easy to use. They connect to the users laptop, PDA or other platform, and can be supplied with a lightweight handset or headset for voice communications.
In stand alone mode, BGAN can provide an ideal solution for remote SCADA installations at a much lower cost than VSAT systems, making it ideal for applications where high bandwidth and minimum latency is critical, e.g. monitoring pipeline compressors, industrial pumps, flow meters etc.
