All Iridium telephones contain a Hayes-compatible modem. This allows them to be connected via a 9 Pin serial cable to a PC and used to transmit and receive data for a variety of applications. Typically, subscribers can use this facility to send and receive email, browse the internet and transfer files from one Iridium telephone to another. Provided of course that they are connected to appropriate computer systems and connected with suitable data cables.

32mb of system RAM (depending on Windows System used)
2mb of Video RAM
2gig HD
1 free serial COM PORT
4xCD ROM Drive
800x600 VGA Display
All Iridium Equipment will require a Data Kit with a suitable serial cable for connection to a PC before any data application can be used. Subscribers will also need the correct software installed on their computer systems. To operate email services using an Iridium telephone the following items of software will be required. Windows operating system 95, 98, 2000, ME or XP. Email client software such as outlook express or preferrably MS Outlook. Driver software for the Motorola Satellite Series Modems.

Data Adapter:
Attaches to a Motorola 9500 or 9505 Portable Phone and provides a connection for a serial cable. Allows simultaneous connection of the AC Travel Charger, Auto Accessory Adapter or Solar Charger.
Stand:
Supports the Motorola 9500 or 9505 Portable Phone and allows the antenna to be oriented in a vertical position.
Serial Cable:
Connects the Data Adapter to a computer serial port.
Iridium World Data Services CD:
Contains all software and documentation required to install and configure Iridium World Data Services on your computer. Documentation includes user guides, troubleshooting guides and application notes.
