To enhance safety and operational efficiency, truck, bus and small commercial vessels and aircraft fleet operators often require 2-way text messaging capability between drivers, skippers or pilots and their base.

Whilst this is easily achieved in parts of the world with good cellular coverage, once the asset is out of range of terrestrial communication systems, the messaging capability is lost.

Fastwave has integrated the Iridium Short Burst Data (SBD) system with the DMT 1500 messaging terminal produced by Europe’s leading mobile terminal manufacturer, Dilupe NV of Belgium.

The Fastwave DMT terminal is high performing industrial touch screen with integrated intelligence and Iridium satellite communication capability.

The unit enables 2-way pr-formatted or free-form text messages to be sent to and from vehicles, vessels or aircraft anywhere in the world

Thanks to its robust die cast aluminum housing and perfect visibility in all circumstances, this small size screen is the perfect tool for applications from simple “in cab messaging” to “advanced customized sales and service reporting applications”.

The integrated keyboard allows the operator to easily manage long and variable data messages but also select predefined messages.
