The Triton is a unique product intended to track normally submerged equipment that has broken free and floated to the surface of the ocean.
It is attached to the submerged asset, and remains passive unless the asset surfaces. Upon surfacing, the Triton commences transmitting GPS co-ordinates at pre-defined intervals. The Triton has sufficient battery capacity for approximately 1500 messages, and can be re-charged if necessary.
The Triton is equipped with Iridium Satellite Telemetry equipment, enabling it to deliver GPS messages from anywhere in the world's oceans to the on-line tracking interface within seconds. Alerts can also be sent to mobile phones notifying users of a surfacing event.
Applications include subsea offshore oil & gas equipment, wave energy devices, submerged surveillance devices and harbour protection systems.
